BLEACH ROLEPLAY REFERENCE
Mod-Soul Roleplay Guide
Create a Mod-Soul character for Shattered Realms with original lore, racial traits, roleplay guidance, and talent progression.
Mod-Soul | Overview
Difficulty
Difficult 8/10 Mod-Souls are the ultimate “custom build” race: insanely creative, insanely flexible, and therefore easy to overreach with. Your strength is your concept, and your weakness is also your concept.
General
Mod-Souls are made, not born. They can be engineered bodies, stitched fragments, ritual constructs, artificial souls in metal shells, or living experiments that shouldn’t exist, but do. If there’s ever a question of “how does XYZ exist in Telaros?” Mod-Souls are often the cleanest narrative answer.
Strengths
- Build freedom (mixing identity pieces in a controlled way) - Strong “adaptation” fantasy: learn from fights, evolve, survive - Unique backstory potential (created for a purpose, then abandoned)
Weaknesses
- You *must* have a coherent origin (who made you / why / how you function) - Scrutiny is higher because “anything goes” gets abused fast - If your concept is unclear, your kit will feel messy
Playing As
Mod-Souls can borrow from many paths, but you need a grounded explanation. Think “designed identity”: what you were built to do, and what you choose to do now.
Mod-Soul | Traits
Talent Highlights
Mod-Soul trees support: - Core Design: pull from Human/Beast/Fae identity over time - Upgrade Core: expand into spiritual/other paths (with requirements) - Adaptive Combat: learn a clash pattern and grow stronger against it - Core Resilience: stamina recovery under pressure Your “theme” should explain what you’re made from (and why).
Design Prompts
- Were you built as a weapon, a servant, a guardian, or a mistake? - Do you have a maker still alive… or a blueprint you’re trying to destroy? - Are your memories yours, or implanted?
Mod-Soul | Notes
Simple Guidelines
- Pick a “core fantasy” (adaptation, stitched soul, artificial body, etc.) - Pick 1-2 visual motifs (core, stitches, runes, halo, modular limbs, etc.) - Pick a limitation (overheat, instability, memory gaps, dependency, etc.) That limitation makes the character feel real, and gives DMs hooks.
